S3 Newsletter 2016-3

 Dear Friend,                                                                September 2016

After a summer that seemed to never end (at least in terms of high temperatures), we have finally left the holidays behind us to confront the last quarter of this 2016.  The political uncertainty (particularly in Spain and the U.S.A.) we mentioned in the last Newsletter seems to be going on, just like the need for all of us to move on, work hard and keep the team motivated to reach our goals.

Apart from a minor design change to this Newsletter, we have again plenty of news items, regardless of the fact that the summer period may imply the opposite.
First of all we have entirely updated our website, www.GroupS3.com, with a new and refreshing look.

In terms of export, we have made a new wine delivery in China, the consequence of a modest, but continuous effort on behalf of the team.
Sourcing, being the dominant activity of the company right now, offers plenty of news, both with consolidated customers as with novelty projects.
And once again we increase the teaching assignments, which are becoming little by little almost a tradition in our Newsletters over the last two (academic) years.

Wishing you all a pleasant time reading this edition, as well as a brilliant last quarter full of success stories, we are looking forward to your feedback

Warm regards from Barcelona,

Tom Van der Heyden

Visits to S3 suppliers in China

During the month of September, Miguel Angel Burges and Sarah Zhi (see ‘Team’), both in charge of the sourcing activities of the company, made a number of joint supervision and development visits to our suppliers in China

100% renovated corporate website!

Not long ago we renovated the corporate website, www.GroupS3.com.  Nevertheless, since we can always try to do things a bit better, we decided to review the entire page and give it a new, more modern, more professional touch.

Sourcing: another delivery to Latin America, a QC inspection, a Red Dot award and a video on fencing tools

As you can see: lots of news items!

Export: a new delivery, a wine tasting and a prestigious restaurant where our wines are being served

Exactly like in Sourcing, also plenty of news in Export.

This time we explain a new assignment with ILI / Universitat Abat Oliba, as well as additional collaborations with Toulouse Business School.

Team

In this edition we focus on Sarah Zhi, head of sourcing projects in China, based in Shanghai.

S3, S4, S5...

Traditionally we close this Newsletter with some more informal items, i.e. with a lighter content.

We continue here the two theme series about Chinese characters and public holidays, and we add some additional info about the business behind the U.S. presidential elections and a small curiosity...
