The month of August is coming to a close and back-to-school is just around the corner! We don't know about you, but our summer sure has flown by. As we all get back from camping trips, time with family and friends, and enjoying all that BC has to offer, we are excited for the fall season. Autumn means completion of projects and planning for new ones; it means new build orders, production management and of course, product innovation.

Thanks for reading our newsletter and enjoy these last few weeks of summer
The Growing Popularity of Parklets
Parklets are something that have become more common in communities around the country. We worked with two BC communities this summer that embraced this.
City of Kelowna
The City of Kelowna closed part of Bernard Ave to vehicle traffic and created a large pedestrian area. It asked design firms if they would design parklets for this space. We were kindly asked by Outland Design in Kelowna if we would work with a concept they had envisioned. We supplied the Rutherford Planters and JEM Lounge chairs and the outcome was superb!
Town of Osoyoos
Wishbone worked with the Town of Osoyoos to create an extreme parklet. Half of a block was sectioned off to provide a space to encourage community gatherings. We provided a wide range of furnishings from tables to benches and chairs along with practical site furnishings like bike racks and receptacles. Based on the overwhelming positive response, the community is now considering making it a permanent feature downtown.
Enjoy the Late Summer in the Okanagan Lounge Chair
First there were the Adirondack and the Ontario-made Muskoka chairs and now there is a new star shining from the west-the Okanagan Lounge Chair! Imagine sipping a Pinot on the edge of an Okanagan vineyard, a beer or cider from one of the local cideries or craft breweries or planting yourself on the water’s edge, watching fish jump or the eagle fly.
To compliment the look, there is the option of an ottoman and side chair sold as a set or on its own, perfect for putting your feet up after a day at the beach or ski hill; we are, after all, the 'four seasons playground'.
Built to Last - Why Our Powder Coating Stands the Test of Time
Many companies make claims on how great their products are, and we believe the true test of this is how they perform over a long period of time in the environment. The powder coating process is critical to this success. Our 5 stage in house powder coating system is an environmentally sustainable process using super durable resin technology to protect against weather conditions and intense UV radiation, while being both expressive and elegantly reserved.
We had Logan from Wishbone come by this morning with your renew tool. What an amazing job. Our benches look like new. And your employee Logan is truly an asset to your company very pleasant and hard working. He did an excellent job in refinishing the benches."
- Harvey Stavenes, Surrey Lawn Bowling
Customers come first at Wishbone and we were happy to help them out. Logan, our regional sales manager, stepped in and in short order he was able to make them look as good as new.
Solutions for the Future from Pieces of the Past
51,994 lbs of recycled materials were used in June! Wow! These numbers continue to climb. And we are super proud of it! This has been the foundation of Wishbone Site Furnishings from the beginning - Solutions for the Future from Pieces of the Past. We love seeing these numbers climb every month and will continue to share the numbers each month.
