Big Apple Circus Gets New Ring Master/Mistress

It was nice to read about Bindlestiff Circus' STEPHANIE MONSEAU getting the gig at the renowned Big Apple Circus as their new ringmaster.
Stephanie has long been recognized as a top-notch whip artist during her tenure with the Bindlestiff Circus, but this is definitely a feather in her top hat.

Way to go, Stephanie!

Get Away to Greece!

Globe-trotting Silver Whips' SYLVIA ROSAT is performing in Athens, Greece for two months, and while she's there, she has worked a deal for folks who want to get away to the Cradle of Western Civilization for a few days.
       Here it is:
For the entire month of February, you can experience a stay for two at a romantic hotel, with breakfast and dinner, a glass of champagne, and a welcome gift - plus a 90-minutes of whip cracking with Sylvia, who is also translator of the French version of "Let's Get Cracking! The How-To Book of Bullwhip Skills.".
How much? All this is for only €259 euros. How you get there is up to you - but once you get there, it's a once in a lifetime experience!
The offer is valid for every day of February.
Visit the Silver Whips website at
https://silverwhips.jimdo.com/ for more information.

Correction
Last month's piece about the availability of whip poppers on Ebay inadvertently overlooked Lizzy Jane of Krackthorn Krackers. You can see her fine products at https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/krackthornkrackers*.
In apologizing for this oversight, I see that this is a good opportunity to encourage readers to drop me a brief note if someone sees something incorrect, incomplete -  or outright missing. I won't know unless you tell me! Many thanks!

There is still time to get your tickets to the Wild West Arts Fest in Las Vegas May 2-4, but you'd better start planning now.
The three-day event at the Orleans Hotel and Casino is being sponsored by Kyle Petersen of WESTERN STAGE PROPS.
There will be demos and workshops on gun spinning, knife throwing, trick roping, and whip cracking. Along with light-hearted competitions, the nightly events will include a dinner show. Each day will have open practice times and skill sharing sessions, and there will be no time limits imposed on schmoozing or cameraderie!
Scheduled presenters include Gery Deer, Loop Rawlins, Throwdini, and Chris McDaniel. Event tickets are $350.00. Daily Spectator (Only) Passes are $80.00.
For more information or to purchase tickets, go the Western Stage Props website at
http://www.westernstageprops.com/.
Or you can mosey on over to their Facebook page at

This month's Bullwhip Newsletter is a little light, because a lot has been going on behind the scenes here:
I've been shooting a movie, "An Alternative," by
Jake Yuzma. Lots of whip work (including fire whips by frozen falls with Adam Solko). We'll see how much winds up on the floor (I'm dying to see the outtakes!).
My own efforts to bring "Let's Get Cracking! The How-To Book of Bullwhip Skills" to the screen have been somewhat stymied. I ran a GoFundMe campaign to get a better computer to handle the job, and I was able to get a great one with the money donated (Thanks, Guys!). Almost at once, my damned Seagate Terrabyte external hard disk ate all my content, and the company referred me to an outfit that said they'd save all my data for $600-plus (emphasis on the "plus"). The other option is to reinput the footage. All of it. Le sigh. Like poet Piet Hein said, "Problems worthy of attack/Prove their worth by hitting back." Onward!
And I am well into my new projects: The Bullwhip Hall of Fame and the Bullwhip Museum. The paperwork to make it a non-prof is in motion . If you want to see how things are progressing, visit
BullwhipHallofFame.com and BullwhipMuseum.com. Still rudimentary, true, and incomplete -- but the structure is there, now. Visit the Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/361193997961535/.

And this year's schedule is shaping up: Two jam-packed trips to Europe are planned, but no West Coast appearances will happen this year (sorry, folks!). See more at Bullwhip.Net.
That's it for this month. Stay tuned to see what adventures await in March!
