New Corporate Website Launches

We are very excited that our new website is officially here! Please take a few minutes to check it out and familiarize yourself with it - and feel free to send us your thoughts and feedback. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Kerr Smith of Kerr Smith Creations for his talent and skill in helping us design and develop the new site.

Register for the Conference Now and Save!

Registration has opened for the 38th Annual Directors’ Forum Conference, taking place October 27 – 29, 2022. Register by August 14 to take advantage of the Early Bird rate and save $100 off the cost per delegate!

Directors will have the option of attending in person or virtually once again this year. As noted in the previous newsletter, the virtual offering is contingent on us reaching enough participants to make it financially feasible. Registrants will be notified at least three (3) weeks prior to the event if the virtual option needs to be cancelled and provided the option to switch to the in-person event or to receive a refund. Click here to view the registration fees and details.

Important: Those who have already paid the $2 lifetime membership fee and are currently a Member of the DFC must register as a member when prompted by the system (using the same email address they entered when they initially paid the membership fee). Those who are not currently members can opt to become one during the registration process, and the fee will automatically be added to the final cost. There is also an option to register as a non-member. (Please note at this time, only Directors of Ontario credit unions and caisses populaires can become a member. The Board will be asking the membership to pass a motion at the November Virtual AGM to include mutuals and non-financial co-operatives into the membership).

The Fundamentals of Good Governance conference will tackle a variety of topics focused on strengthening the board’s effectiveness in strategy and oversight for credit unions, mutuals and co-operatives alike. Help Promote the Conference!

The Directors’ Forum Board is asking for your help to spread the word about the fall conference! We have developed a toolkit complete with downloadable social media posts and messages, as well as a banner and national invitation. Please feel free to download the Promo kit and use it as you see fit.
Any support you can provide to encourage directors to participate in the event is greatly appreciated.

2022–23 Sponsorship Opportunities

The DFC provides organizations with a unique opportunity to invest in the professional development and continuing education of Board Directors. Credit unions and other stakeholder organizations that support our mission through sponsorships, and/or with registrations to our virtual governance sessions and annual conference (or both!) is what enables us to plan, produce and execute the highly valued programming each year.  

If you have not already done so, please take a moment to review our 2022 Sponsorship Proposal, to see how your generosity helps support our mission and how we can recognize you for your contribution.

June 15 Virtual Session

It’s not too late to join us for our next virtual governance session on June 15 at 12pm!
