Dear Students, Families, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of ASB School,
'Tis the season to be jolly and jolly we are at ASB! Thank you to Mr. Van Pelt, Mr. Turner, our choir, concert band, first, second, and third grade students for a joyful Christmas concert last week. And thank you to St. Bridget for hosting us. Thank you to our kindergarten students who led parish masses this past weekend, you did an excellent job. Thank you to our Student Leadership Team, Mrs. Kane, and Mr. Van Pelt for our spirited Christmas assembly on Monday afternoon. Teachers showing off their Christmas sweaters and an appearance by multiple Grinches definitely made for good entertainment. Thank you to our kindergarten students and teachers for annual Posada celebration, which will happen this afternoon. Thank you to all of you for your generous donations for Francis House, Lake City shelter, the Tri-Parish Food Bank, and more. You definitely live the true spirit of Christmas.
I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May these next few weeks be filled with love, peace, and joy for each of you and your families. See you in 2019!
Congratulations to our incredible ASB Choir & Mr. Matt Turner, for a terrific performance at this year's Winterfest at Seattle Center.
DON'T MISS THIS!
Are you watching your kids scroll through their lives, with their rapid-fire thumbs and six-second attention spans? Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston saw that with her own kids and learned that the average kid spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. In SCREENAGERS, as with her award-winning documentaries on mental health, Delaney explores struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. Through poignant, and unexpectedly funny stories, along with surprising insights from authors, psychologists, and brain scientists, SCREENAGERS reveals how tech time impacts kids’ development and offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance.
WHO: All Parents, Friends, and Guests - parents & kids are welcome
WHAT: A special screening of SCREENAGERS documentary film and in person Q&A session with filmaker Dr. Delaney Ruston
WHEN: Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 7:00 pm

Cost is $195 / 8 week session
Join ASB's Jeri-Su Pruitt using Scratch: a powerful, visual, block-based programming language that enables children to intuitively design and create programs. During this club your child will begin his or her coding journey by using a drag and drop system to connect a series of logical blocks that forms the sequential logic of the program. They will also learn how to create conditional statements and use variables so that, by the end of our sessions, they will have the skills to create amazing animations and program two types of robots: Ozobots and Spheros.
