2018-19 ASB Calendar PDF

2019-20 Calendar (DRAFT)
June 5, 2019

Dear Students, Families, Alumni, Parishioners, and Friends of ASB School,

Today we will officially say good bye to our 8th grade class of 2019! As they graduate tonight, they leave behind a legacy of kindness, leadership, spirit, curiosity, humor, friendship, service, and love.  We know they will go to high school and beyond making us proud and continuing to positively impact the lives of all whom they encounter.

Congratulations to our new Student Leadership Team for next year: Maggie Bratrud, Miles Watson, Emerson Ludwick, Ava Johnson, Tate Uffelman, Keira Blair, Mika Wellington, and Gianna Shaw.  We look forward to your leadership and modeling for all of the students at ASB.  We had an outstanding group of applicants this year and all of them should be proud of their efforts.

It continues to be busy, busy around ASB.  The fifth graders rocked Park Day on Friday, showing off their amazing National Park projects.  This Friday, first grade will celebrate their annual Reading Rodeo, second grade will celebrate their annual Learning Luau, and third grade will experience Japan Day.  Fourth grade is gearing up for Famous Washingtonians, kindergarten is excited about Rocky Beach, sixth grade is sailing into the end of their first year of middle school, and seventh grade is about to get electric on their boat trip.  So many great things happening to wrap up another wonderful year here!

On Monday, students will have Step Up Day, visiting the grade level they are entering next year.  DIBELS, summer work, MAP, and supply lists will all be sent home on Monday, so be sure to remind your child(ren) to give you all of these important items.

Next Thursday is Field Day.  Thank you to all of the parents who are volunteering for this fun event.  It is a noon dismissal day and Extended Care is available.  On Friday, our last day, we will end with mass in the church at 10:45 AM.  Please join us in celebrating the 2018-2019 school year.  Friday is also a noon dismissal and there is no Extended Care.

A final reminder that volunteer hour tracking sheets are due today.  Families who have not reported 35 hours will be billed on Tuesday, June 11th

Good article as we approach summer: Have a great weekend!

Best,
Kathleen Conklin

Don't throw out your USED school supplies!
Please donate them to a school in Namibia instead!

SLT is supporting the Smith Family to collect USED school supplies for Onayena Primary School in Onayena, Namibia.  Please donate your USED pencils (non-mechanical), blue & black pens, rulers, crayons, hand-held pencil sharpeners, early reader books and small dictionaries. Space is limited for transporting the items to Africa, so we are focusing on small, light items needed by the students.
ASB Alum Abby Lane is a teacher in Onayena, and needs these items for her 200 students in grades 4-7.

Please put donations in the bin in the front hall, now until June 14! The items will be delivered to Namibia this August.

Join us next week as we break ground on our exciting building project!  We will be serving Dick’s burgers, beverages, tours of the school for alumni and alumni families, and community-building fun and excitement.  We will begin outside at 6:00 PM at Big Toy with our official groundbreaking, then head to the gym to continue the celebration.
