Welcome to our May 2015 newsletter!

Dear SNUG fans and followers,

Welcome to our May newsletter. We are more than pleased that spring seems to have come into its own and we are at last seeing the back of the horrid winter germs.
*Thank goodness for that!*

Other great news

We are absolutely chuffed that two of our smallest snug bugs have been let loose to the wonderful world of home. Gorgeous Rory born at 25+4 at 1lb 7oz and little Caleb born at 30+6 at 2lb 1oz have been bedside buddies since ICU and left the unit within days of one another... All the power to them and their fabulous mummies who have done so well.

Thank you

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to Jen at Exeter Babies for organising another fabulous cloth nappy and sling sale and for choosing to support SNUG again. We love the Devon Cloth Nappy Project and highly recommend you pop over to her website to check out all the fabulous info on clubs, groups, activities and all things sling or cloth nappy!

Vintage ball tickets

We are soooo excited to tell you that the tickets for the Grand Vintage Ball are now available to buy via our website! Please be aware that they seem to be selling very quickly so to avoid disappointment, visit very soon! For further information about this (and all other SNUG matters) can be found by following this link:

Comfort bags

As many of you will know SNUG provide our neonatal parents with ‘comfort bags’ which include everything from dry shampoo to cuddly bears. However, thanks to one amazing SNUG Mum Jenny Valerino and one amazing nurse, Karen Read, these comfort bags have been taken to a whole new level. Now neonatal families have beautifully designed, extra special memory bags to keep their bits and bobs in. Visit our website soon to see photos of their fab work which is also on our facebook page.
Kangaroo Care chairs

We are delighted that the state of the art kangaroo care chairs have arrived for and we are so pleased! Kangaroo Care has so many benefits for babies and their parents, so anything to make it that little bit easier is a winner in our eyes.

June community meet

The next community meet is going to be held on Thursday June 11th at the fabulous Munchkins day nursery at St Leonards in Exeter. The door to our private room opens at 12.00 and we’d love to see you there. There are always new faces, so if it’s your first time coming, there’s no need to worry. We’ll be there with the kettle on and cake at the ready! Finishes at 2pm.

New volunteers

We are very excited to be welcoming six new volunteers to our team as of July 2015. With more parents reaching out for peer support than ever before, SNUG relies on the compassion and kindness of its community members to meet this ever growing need. If you are a parent who wants one to one support, or indeed feels well placed to provide it, please get in touch!

Video volunteers needed!

With our fabulous ball coming up, we are looking to interview some fellow snugateers about the support they have received from SNUG. If you feel we are an organisation who has helped you (and you’re not too camera shy!) we’d really love to hear from you.

Well, that's pretty much it for this month but before signing off we want to say a massive THANK YOU to all our fabulous parents and their families. There isn't a day that goes by when the team at SNUG are not inspired and encouraged by the strength and support that you all show as individuals and to one another during difficult times.

Best Wishes,

All at SNUG xx
