TLmag 34 AH / AW 2020-21 :
Précieux, Une Géologie de l’Être /Precious: A Geology of Being

Guest Editor, artiste et écrivaine /artist and writer, Amy Hilton

/There is so much that remains precious on this earth, from a raw diamond to water resources to a thriving green forest. But there is a real phenomenon of scarcity which brings us to feel the fragility and necessity to take better care of what we have and what we want to transfer to future generations. This issue explores how the word “precious” can be defined and how this idea has perhaps shifted recent years as the earth itself becomes the most precious of all. Artists, designers, and thinkers from the past and present who are interested in geology, stones, sustainability, and human’s connection with the earth and its natural resources are showing the way to a new geology of being.
