Student Health and Wellbeing Survey

Thank you

We would very much like to thank you for your hard work and commitment to the Network this term. We thought you would like to know that over 110,000 students aged 11-18 years took part in the survey overall. We plan to provide schools with Student Health and Wellbeing Reports by Easter 2018, as requested.

Cheryl Briscombe is leaving...

Cheryl has provided the administrative support for the Network since it started in 2013 and it is with sadness that we say goodbye to her at the end of this term. It is a positive move for her though as she has a job with Cardiff University Communications team. All the best Cheryl and thanks from us all.

School Environment Questionnaire

One School Environment Questionnaire which covers school policies and practices across a range of health and wellbeing areas will be posted to our survey lead in the school by Monday 15th January.  It is wide ranging but you have 3 weeks to complete it (by Friday February 2nd) and this can be done by a team of staff with an interest in wellbeing. It should be useful as an internal audit of health and wellbeing activity in school.

The information from the School Environment Questionnaires is very important for school health research because what you tell us can then be related to student responses on health and wellbeing issues.
Webinar Invitation
We have been asking you to 'hold this date' since the start of the academic year; however the title has been changed as the Energy Drink research has still to be published (there will be a webinar on that popular topic after publication).

We really value keeping in touch with you all, so we hope that you will join us for our webinars and Network event in June. As requested, here is the annual timetable for you to save to your school diary.

Topic: using your data and SRE in schools

At our summer events two years ago there were a number of requests for a private area of the SHRN website where schools could access their school reports as well as other documents. Due to this demand we created the SHRN intranet, a private page that schools would have access to.

Each school has a log in and a password, the main contact for each school has previously been emailed these details, they were also given out to those attending the summer events for the last two years. If you cannot locate your intranet log in details please get in touch with the SHRN team who will re-send these.

At the moment the following documents are stored on the intranet page:
  • SHRN membership certificate
  • SHRN logos for use on your website or headed paper
  • 2017 event attendance certificate and event delegate list (for those who attended events this year only)
In addition, for those of you who have been Network members for some time:
  • Student Health and Wellbeing Report/s from 2013/14 and 2015/16
  • Tips for interpreting the data
Going forward, once your Student Health and Wellbeing report is complete it will be stored on your intranet page. This will be the only way you are sent your report so it will be vital that you have access to your log in details.

If there is anything you are not sure about or have any questions relating to the intranet please get in touch with the SHRN team
