The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever.

- Isaiah 40:8

Grammar School

Mrs. Brantley used different horn instruments to convey how no matter what happens, give God praise. She emphasized that when the Israelites went into battle, they did not lead with their best fighters, they led with their horns because they were praising God first.
Fifth graders taught other grammar school students Latin in chapel.

Upper School

Heritage dad David Pedregon was the chapel speaker in upper school. He discussed how progress is more valuable than perfection in God's eyes. He gave the example of Peter denying Jesus three times, and then, after being found out for his betrayal and questioned by Jesus again, affirming his love for Jesus three times. Jesus did not need perfection, only progress. Thank you, Mr. Pedregon.

Heritage volleyball defeated Boerne Homeschool at home on Thursday night!

Coach’s Comments: “This was an important week for our team. We felt like we were the better team coming into the game and had an opportunity to put some of our younger guys to the test. I think it was a bit of a wake-up call to the 6th grade Eagles.

We have talked a lot this season about contributing and doing our job on every play regardless of the situation. We have spent so much time in practice focusing on the importance of 6 men doing their jobs every play. However, talking and practicing are no match for experience, and Thursday night was such a good opportunity to gain that experience and grow as a team.

I was proud of the fight that our boys showed once again. The 6th graders, particularly, were very tough and resilient. It was so much fun to be a part of. Coach Moldenhauer and Coach McKinney had the defense and special teams rolling on a night when the offense was a bit off. Thank you guys for steadying the ship!”

Coach’s Comments: “Another solid win for the Eagles in week 2! The boys clearly enjoyed their first home game of the season and gave a great effort. The first half of the game was about as competitive of a game as you will see at this level. I thought we had our backs against the wall a number of times and our boys responded wonderfully each time. Whether forcing a fumble on the one-yard line or running for a 55-yard score with 2 seconds left in the half, our guys made huge plays at critical times.

The second half was a different story. Coach Moldenhauer made some timely defensive adjustments and said some magic words and the defense stepped up HUGE after halftime. We were not scored on for the entire 2nd half, which is quite an accomplishment in six-man football!”
