Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

School Closure

Dear Heritage Family,

Well, we were the last school standing…but COVID has hit us as well.
Our school family has had some adult cases of COVID and so the Board of Trustees has approved my request to halt school for MONDAY and TUESDAY (Nov 23 and 24).  Thus, there will be NO classes on Monday and Tuesday.  We will still have basketball and football practices as scheduled with students who have not been directly exposed to COVID.  While we are gone, the building will receive a deep sanitizing spray.
In-person classes will resume on November 30.
If you plan to travel or gather during the holidays, please adhere to CDC guidelines: wear masks, wash your hands often, distance as much as possible or gather outdoors.  If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not return to school unless you are sure it is not the virus.
We pray that God will heal our land and our world.   We are thankful for so much and for our ability to hold classes as long as we have.
God bless you and your families!
Nancy Hierholzer

Happy Thanksgiving

Heritage School wishes all of our extended family a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Grammar School

In Grammar School chapel, Mrs. Brantley talked about how important her discussions with God are to her. She has a book in her office named "Dear God It's Me Again" that has inspired her to pull up a chair and speak to God about all of her problems. She said problems are never too small or too large to discuss with Him, and that He is never too busy for us. He will always sit down in that chair and help us, every day.

Upper School

Pastor of Hill Country Church, Heritage board member, and parent Rob Holster spoke at Upper School chapel, talking about how we should act on the word of God, not just read it, but take lessons from it and saying to ourselves, "I'm going to do this today".

STEM Students Shine

The 2020 STEM students are already preparing for Christmas by custom-building their Christmas Barns. The barns consist of a small galvanized house with a programmable microprocessor that controls flashing LEDs installed on the front of the barns. The students build, program, wire, and install the LEDs to create a cute, colorful, and festive look to the barns.

Kinder Makes Regular Library Visits

Kindergarten enjoyed our grammar school library. We will visit the library at least two times a week, enjoying a variety of stories and books.

First Grade Visits the Pioneer Museum

First Grade has been learning about our early Fredericksburg history and her German settlers. Last week we visited Pioneer Museum where we “held class” in the White Oak School and made corn husk dolls. This week we visited the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm where we picked cotton, met Andelina the 600lb pig, and learned even more about the pioneer way of life!

On the game

This was a great game. I was very proud of the focus that our guys showed. They executed the way that you want a team to; it shows how hard they have been working in practice and just how much they are investing now so they can reach their goals in the future. This type of season takes a tremendous amount of discipline and this team has it.  We are still getting better and haven't fully reached our potential yet. We were able to get a lot of objectives accomplished tonight. I see our younger guys growing by leaps and bounds from last week's game. I see our starters getting in some live reps, where we are able to fit them into some different play packages. These are very important as we head into the playoffs.

On winning the district championship
We play in one of, if not the hardest, districts in the state. I am very proud of these guys for accomplishing that rung on the ladder.
On the seniors last Home game
It was an emotional night and I loved the way these seniors went out at home.  It goes so fast and it seems like these guys were just freshman playing their first home game under the lights. What a special night for all three of these young men. I am blessed to get to coach them as they lead very well and by example.
On the playoffs
Because we won the district title, we get a bye in the 1st round of the playoffs. Probably not the year we want to get a bye, but you take whatever gets thrown at you. We know what we have to do each week to get better and prepare for the next game. It is that time of year where you win or your season is over. This team knows that and we are eager to get this playoff season started.

We will be off this week and then play the winner of Garland Christian and Houston Grace in the area round.

Alivia Jons (senior) and Madison Brantley (sophomore) were named to the First Team All-State at the State volleyball tournament in New Braunfels on Friday!
