It's important to set boundaries, but they're only effective when they're upheld. Even when we know that what our bodies and minds need most is a good night's rest, it feels bad to be the first one to leave the office on a busy day. And when someone treats us poorly, in a way that has undoubtedly infringed on our values, standing up for ourselves can be stressful and scary.

When we recognized that boundaries are closely tied to our self worth pushing past the discomfort starts to seem like a small price to pay. It's okay to be precious about how you spend your time and who you spend it with because life is too short to live by someone else's rules. So this month I invite you to be brave by taking note of what you need more or less of in order to feel supported and whole. Just remember: it's not selfish, it's your self worth.
