Staying Connected


A lot has changed in the past seven weeks since we closed our physical location. It has been a great gift to stay connected to so many of you in class as well as those who haven't been able to make it to our livestream classes but have checked in to let me know how you are doing.

There is still a lot that is uncertain for all of us right now. As I hear about strategies to re-open businesses, my only concern remains the health and safety of our students and instructors. We will continue to offer livestream classes until it is safe for us to come together and practice again.

Many of you have found creative ways to substitute for your Yoga props, and our instructors can always assist you with that. In an effort to make your practice more comfortable and accessible, I am offering studio props for sale at cost for anyone who is finding it challenging to practice without their usual props, or for anyone who would prefer to continue to use their own props, rather than communal props, when our physical space re-opens. You are welcome to e-mail me at elizabeth@bedrockyoga.net if you would like to make a purchase. I can also place an order for new props if there is an interest for that. You can find a list of available props as well as guidance in how to access our online offerings on the yoga snacks page of our website.

Please continue to let me know how you are doing. It has been a pleasure hearing about gardens, sewing projects, home projects, etc. I invite you to share photos of what you are working on, or of your home Yoga space. You are welcome to e-mail me or post them on our Facebook page. I am creating a community page for our website for those of you who are not on social media.

May Livestream Class Schedule

Your only goal is to arrive...

There are so many pressures right now. Most of us have had to adjust to working from home, possibly for the first time. We may be learning new technologies, homeschooling our children for the first time or simply trying to keep up with the latest health news and advice. I encourage you to enjoy the days you want to tackle something more challenging, and I also encourage you to allow yourself to have days when productivity is not the goal. This article appealed to me because of it's basic premise that simply getting through this the best we can is all we need to ask of ourselves. Can you think of one way to take a little bit of pressure off yourself? Or re-set your expectations?

5 Self-Care Tips for Parents During Self-Quarantine

Some practical tips for parents in how to care for yourselves while you're caring for your kids, possibly juggling your own online schedule as well as theirs (the first tip of time for yourself may have to happen in shifts if you are fortunate to have a co-parent!). Number 5 is the one I encourage us all to embrace "Take it One Day at a Time". Some days you'll have energy and enthusiasm and some you won't. You don't have to clean out closets every day or make a fancy meal. I encourage you to allow yourself to be where you are at any given moment without judgement.
