Happy New Year 2020!

A New Approach to New Year's Resolutions

As we get ready to begin our Winter Session tomorrow, I'm reminded of new beginnings & fresh starts, both of which can be lovely. Both of which can also create pressure. Pressure to improve, succeed, all kinds of pressure. And while none of us is perfect and improvement and setting goals can be positive, I loved the perspective presented in Amber Burke's article in Yoga International "Setting a Drishti for the New Year". She suggests an alternative definition to resolve that lends itself more to "a softness and a receptivity...For this kind of resolution to happen, all you have to do is set your drishti, or “gazing point,” keep looking with sustained interest, and then wait for what is already present to reveal its true form." Maybe this is the year to turn your attention to something specific and see what evolves?

I hope you all had a happy, peaceful holiday season. We are all looking forward to seeing you in the studio in 2020!

Where to Begin?

Have you wanted to begin a Yoga practice, but aren't certain where to start? Our Yoga 1 classes (Sunday and Wednesday) assume you've never done Yoga before and begin at the beginning. We're also introducing a Lunch Break Yoga as a way to ease your way in with some simple stretches. Our No-Stress Yoga requires no experience and provides tools to ease the stress out of your body.

New Student Special!

As a boost to get you started, we're offering a New Student Special for those visiting our studio for the first time. These passes work like a flex pass--you can attend any class without pre-registering. Beginners can try any of the classes listed under "Where to Begin?", for those with a bit more experience, we're excited that Shernita will be introducting her "Align and Flow" class!
