...out of the great love...

God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead... made us alive together with Christ! (Ephesians 2:4-5)  Whatever love you're celebrating (or not) tomorrow, remember that it pales against the great love that God our Father has shown and continues to show us.  I pray you'll know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge!

And after St. Valentine comes Storm Dennis - here are some reasons to brave the weather and get together this weekend...

This Sunday it's church lunch at Martyn & Maureen's, always a good time to catch up with each other's news and to share good food.  Bring some food to share and see what flavour combinations we get this month!  Please bring food ready to serve - this will really help with setting it out and serving.

Before that... Sunday morning at The Calabash - this week our theme is 'Unity & Reconciliation'.  Ephesians 4:1-6 includes the word 'one' seven times, emphasising the unity of God and the uniqueness of the hope and calling we have received.  Paul says that we are to reflect this by having unity in the body of Christ.  I'm looking forward to exploring this theme on Sunday - 10.15 for refreshments before a 10.30 start - see you there!

Before that... Saturday morning at The Point - it's the Family Craft Morning.  Drop in between 10.30 and 12.00 to join in the fun or just have a drink and a chat.

Before that... Saturday men's breakfast at The Selco Cafe, 8.30-9.30 - come and share conversation over breakfast - traditional, farmhouse, healthy... the options are (almost) endless.

...the first few weeks

For the last few weeks, a varied team has gathered at The Point on Thursday mornings to create a welcoming space, and to offer coffee & tea, cake & fruit, and conversation to anyone who wishes to come along.

We've welcomed some people who know The Point from the English class.  We've had a couple of conversations with people who chatted more than they expected, probably because we were there to give them time.  And we've given out cake and invitations to people passing by the door.

As well as this, we've had some longer and deeper conversations with other CCC people than is often possible on a Sunday morning.  We're praying that we'll continue to make connections with new people as we're present at The Point every Thursday morning.

Next week is half term week, and Connection Point will be open on Thursday morning as usual.  If your schedule is different in half term and you've got the chance to come by, why not drop in between 10.30 and 12.00?  We can offer good company, cake, and conversation!
