April 3, 2020
We know that many of our customers are struggling during these difficult and uncertain times and Davie County Public Utilities is committed to providing access to clean, safe drinking water so that you and your family can remain healthy.
Governor Roy Cooper signed an Executive Order on March 3, 2020 that required all utilities in the state to suspend all cut-offs and fees associated with non-payment as of March 31, 2020. This Order lasts for at least 60 days Executive Order 125 can be found at https://files.nc.gov/governor/documents/files/EO124-Utilities-Evictions-Financial-Services.pdf. For that reason, on March 10, 2020, Davie County temporarily suspended account cutoffs as part of our county-wide response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We understand that the difficulties you are facing may be overwhelming and there are several options we can offer. If you cannot pay the full amount, we can help you set up a payment arrangement to pay smaller amounts over the coming months. This will reduce the amount you owe and protect you from the financial stress of a large balance due at a later date. The Executive Order provides guidance for payment plans of six months after the expiration of the executive order. For more information, please contact the Davie County Public Utilities Department at 336-753-6090 to help establish a monthly payment plan.
We sincerely hope that you and your family remain safe during this crisis. Davie County has created a COVID-19 website for residents which has the most up-to-date information.
