Do you have a family member, friend, program leader, or organization that would love to attend the 2019 National Math Festival? Everyone is invited to download and share the graphics below to help spread the news about this fun, free day of activities, presentations, and films for all ages in downtown Washington, D.C.! 

Add the National Math Festival to your calendar!

The National Math Festival is a free, public event organized by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI). MSRI is delighted to announce that the Institute for Advanced Study and the National Museum of Mathematics will return as key partners of MSRI in organizing the 2019 Festival!

National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath)

MoMath participated in the 2015 National Math Festival with their Math Midway! interactive exhibit and in the 2017 National Math Festival with many colorful, hands-on programs engaging math lovers of all ages. Learn more about MoMath at the 2019 Festival →

Institute for Advanced Study (IAS)

The IAS participated in the 2015 and 2017 National Math Festivals with engaging talks on "The Math of Art and the Art of Math" (Marcus du Sautoy), "The End of Space and Time: The Mathematics of Black Holes and the Big Bang" (Robbert Dijkgraaf), and "Rubik's Cube and Other Permutation Puzzles" (Matthew Kahle). 2019 Festival: Visit the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Film Room

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Film Room will be home to many short, creative math films throughout the Festival, as well as opportunities for Q&A with your favorite 2019 Festival presenters. Most films will be geared toward teens, middle schoolers, and adults. You can expect to see some special film events just for elementary students, too!

Math at Home: More Math! Resources

Can’t come to D.C.? Explore the newly redesigned More Math! section of our site! Each month, we add a new selection of puzzles, games, books, videos, and other mathy treats for all ages.

Math at a Science Museum Near You

Play along in your hometown by visiting one of dozens of museums around the U.S.that will be offering Zometool Bubble Station demos on Saturday, May 4th! A list of participating museums that are members of the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) will be released in March 2019
