Otherwise, you may be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click the join link. (This may take a few minutes to complete, so it is advisable to do this before the event start time.)

You can also join a test meeting anytime to familiarize yourself with Zoom.

We need each other more than ever right now. How are some National Math Festival presenters coping with change? Is it all right to play during a pandemic? How can math help us stay connected and whole during challenging times?

Join hosts David Eisenbud and Kirsten Bohl from the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) for a free online event where mathematicians and math educators share their stories about adapting to the current global moment.

In this informal roundtable session we will invite 2021 Festival presenters to share stories of change, encouragement, and exploration. While we don't know yet exactly which presenters can join us on April 15th, we do know they've all been busy adapting to life in these new times!

We've been hearing how the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) has reinvented itself overnight from a face-to-face museum to an online museum. We've been watching as the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival brings out Spanish- and English-language programs online. We've been watching as Natural Math gathers parents and early childhood educators online to explore new math and play routines for young ones.

Meanwhile we will invite our 2021 Festival lecturers to share a piece of math that has moved or inspired them—to uplift our spirits—or to share whatever else they wish that speaks best to the current moment.
