SMOC website news update

We've all been so busy orienteering/planning/organising that the club news section of our website has been neglected lately. This is a shame, because it means that we don't hear about all the interesting things that our clubmates have been up to.  So .... this is the start of a new series of reports to whet our appetites for all things orienteering related. We have had four willing contributors so far.  If you have an idea for an article (short or long), please contact Ann Harris .... before she asks you.

This summer club members have travelled abroad and across the UK to participate in challenging orienteering events.
Debbie Charlton and fellow relay teammates went to Finland in June to run in the world's largest orienteering relay event. Read more here.
Rachel Thomas was one of six SMOCIES who ran in the World Masters' Orienteering Champs in Latvia in July. Read her story.
James Nisbet went to the Scottish 6 Days event in August. He tells us about his experience of testing out a GPS tracking system. Read more here.

Milly Askham and her Gran Sue Rae also went to Scotland. They discuss how they got on, at either end of the age spectrum. Read their report.

Rachel continued her orienteering adventures closer to home in Yorkshire, at the Race the Castles events. Read more here.
Many thanks to all of them for their entertaining stories.
