THE POWER OF BIBLIOMANCY!
Bibliomancy, google tells us, is the practice of foretelling the future by interpreting a randomly chosen passage from a book, especially the Bible.
According to the OED the word bibliomancy means "divination by books, or by verses of the Bible" and was first recorded in 1753. Maybe it is something you have already done in the past - I remember there was a glut of specially designed Bibliomancy books in New Age sections of bookshops at one stage, but that seems to have lessened these days. So the idea might be new to some of you.
I have used it on and off for a number of years and until recently I received very mixed and muddled results - most answers I received with this method using the Bible, for instance, were 99% nonsense.
I think the main issue I was having was that I was using the wrong books. Once I found the book, the method became a lot more satisfying.
HOW DO YOU DO IT?
- Take a book in your hands.
- Close you eyes and think of your question
- Open the book in a random section.
- In your mind choose the left or right page.
- Run your finger along the page until you feel that you should stop.
- Open your eyes and get your "answer" from the line your finger is under.
The book I now use is the script of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard.
This is a perfect book for bibliomancy as it has plenty of short, quick lines that really lend themselves to this kind of work. In fact you can easily end up having easily having a conversation with it. The problem is that the personality of this book very much a smart arse, almost tricksters in spirit.
Should I mention the name of the Book I use in the newsletter?
Why do you ask?
Well, I am just concerned that it might in some way lessen the power of using the book for myself.
Audiences know what to expect, and that is all they are prepared to believe in.
So what you are saying is that If I believe it will lessen the power it will - otherwise it won't?
Like I said, this book is a bit of a smart arse. But it makes the experience more fun and enjoyable for me.
So try it yourself and see what you come up with.
Use a number of different books until you hit upon the perfect personality match. But remember, while it can be a bit of fun, you can get some great results using this method.
The answers can be truly surprisingly insightful and helpful.

THEM Hypersigil: Post Script
"I have been meaning to write another post about THEM for a long while now as I just had the feeling that the Magick wasn’t quite finished even though I said it had. I ended the previous post in the series with a “At least I tried” sigh of defeat which over the course of the last year or so has proven to be very hasty and false.
The problem with the previous posts is that I was trying to judge the success of the Magick working while still buried deep within the ritual itself. I thought the hypersigil had run it’s course and had fallen flat, but instead I now realise that it was still on-giong.
Turns out it is successful – it is REALLY successful!"

WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE SOUL: UPDATE 2
"This section was slightly harder than the last section in that the momentum and drive waned a bit, and I noticed I started to say things like “50 more calories today won’t hurt” or guessing the weight of food rather than actually weighing it. I’ll have to quickly get on top of this as that’s just too close to “Ah, sure one whole pizza won’t hurt me”, and then I’m back to square one.
I started strength training again, but only once a week. The focus now is on weight loss rather than muscle building so I don’t want to do too much of lifting at this stage. Building muscle when you are fat just makes you look fatter – been there got, done that."
