Opportunity in crisis?

Thursday 23 November

It is with great pleasure that the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in South Africa invites you to a two hours highly informative session.

Business Breakfast Seminar about
Water in South Africa

According to the National Water Resource Strategy, water is a basic right and all South Africans should have reliable and equitable access to the resource. Although there has been an average improvement in the access to water since 1994, the water system has been operating at near capacity since 2015 and urgent action is required across the water value chain in order to meet not only ever growing demand but also challenges such as drought and ailing infrastructure.
Water has been widely reported as the next “megatrend of our time” and as such, public and private sector initiatives to improve capacity, efficiency and reliability of water supply through new technologies and know-how, are on the rise. As the water sector develops, it has the potential to offer sustainable commercial returns, thereby, supporting economic growth and social development in South Africa.

With this is mind it is with great pleasure that we invite you and your business associates to a breakfast seminar aiming to provide attendees with a national, provincial and municipal overview of existing and upcoming business opportunities in the South African water sector.
Discussion points will touch on the following:
  • The major challenges – is the current policy framework enabling solutions?
  • The National Water Master Plan
  • How can private sector stakeholders work with government, provinces and municipalities?
  • What roles can private stakeholders play in current and future projects?
  • Budgets and PPP projects
