Welcome to 2020! - President Lori Warwick
As some of you know, Central Florida Home Brewers will be entering our 31^th year of home brewing! We had a successful Sunshine Challenge this past year and I look forward to another successful year in 2020.
The Executive Committee has been installed we want to welcome Missy Todd as the new club treasurer and Jim Gilson as the new VP Ales. Thank outgoing Vice President Chris Ahern for his help this past year.

Our next meeting will be January 5th at Brew Theory.

Message from our VP of Ales - Jim Gilson

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone. I am excited to be working on the CFHB board again for 2020 as the VP of Ales. The teams I will be working with this year are Competition, Education and Hospitality. We have some club members who are already working on the Education team and we are looking for some help with the Competition and Hospitality teams. If you have any interest on helping out on any of the teams, or just learning what the teams do, or have some suggestions for any of the team activities, please get in touch with me. Thank you for allowing me to be your Treasurer since 2016.

Central Florida Home Brewers is moving into our 31st year, we are evolving into a stronger club. New members have joined the past year, and are representing the club well in competitions.

As Vice President Jim Gilson has said, we're bringing back education in a big way and we are creating an online library and thanks to member Frank Ferber for his generous donation of educational materials.
Speaking as your membership director, I want to remind all members that membership renewals are currently due. $20/year.

Please keep in mind that these are all still in the planning/idea phase but we are off to a great start! If anyone has any other subjects they would like to cover, please see Matt or Ed at the next meeting! Thanks Matt for the awesome ideas and setting us up for success this year!

Anyone studying for BJCP or Cicerone Certification interested in trading home brews at the next meeting to practice evaluating and filling out score sheets with real world examples? Matt Husnworth has quite a few misc home brews from this past competition season.

Upcoming Events!

February - President's Appreciation Party - February 2nd
March - Stouts and Stogies - Jim and Kathleen Gilson are hosting. Date March 7 or 14 as back up
May/June - Sunshine Challenge 2019 - we'll be asking for all hands on deck to assist with the event and judging! Sunshine Challenge date TBD

We are discussing some changes to Brew in the Park this year - more to be discussed at the general meeting this week.

Upcoming Competitions

The club is seeking a competition coordinator for 2020. Anyone interested please let a board member know at the next meeting. Duties would include keeping the club abreast of upcoming competitions, due dates, deadlines and helping set up beer trains.
Coconut Cup - Miami is open for registration. Competition is 2/22 and deadline to enter and submit entries is 1/24.
