Central Florida Home Brewers July 2019 UPDATE

August Meeting Update:
We will be meeting Sunday August 4th at Castle Church Brewing Community. Please be advised there will be no bottle share at this meeting.
We have had several offers from various locations to hold our monthly meetings.

Castle Church
Broken Strings
Toll Road Brewing
Roque Pub

These are all possibilities but each bring their own challenges; either parking, space, bottle share and/or food offerings. These will be discussed at the August meeting. We will also put to general membership the possibility of rotating the locations so we can address the various challenges. Several clubs in Florida rotate regularly with no problems and it might help alleviate some of these issues.
Please come prepared with suggestions, ideas and feedback!

It's Raffle Time:
We have a great selection of raffle items for our meeting, Sunday August 4th at Castle Church Brewing Community.
In addition to some items from the Sunshine Challenge, we have a selection of brewing equipment recently donated to the club. Carboys, grain mill and assorted odds and ends are available.
We also still have Sunshine Challenge T-shirts for Sale - $15 each!

Membership Status
Also on the agenda will be membership dues and elections that will be upon us before you know it.
As a reminder, you must be current on your dues in August to be considered for or vote for the board for 2020. A current list will be on hand at the August meeting and dues will be accepted.

Florida Brewers Guild Seeking Volunteers
The Florida Brewers Guild is looking for some help with volunteers for their upcoming conference being held at the Sea World Renaissance hotel Aug 5th-7th. If you are interested in volunteering some time in exchange for free entrance to the conference, feel free to sign up on the sheet in the link. Thanks in advance!

Sunshine Challenge Update!
We had a very successful event for the 29th annual Sunshine Challenge. Final costs have been tabulated and the club made $609.22 from the event. Well done all on keeping costs in check and still providing an excellent experience for all.

We've also had lots of great feedback from attendees and entrants alike.

" Thanks for all you do you and for getting the score sheets up on Reggie so quickly!"

We also identified there are some learning experiences here for the future for judges and stewards particularly in filling out scoresheets. Beer School anyone?
