President’s / Super bowl Party is Sunday February 3rd at Ten10 Brewing.
The club will provide Mac and cheese from Ten10 along with their signature spent grain pretzel bites, VP John is bringing Chili, VP CJ is bringing enchiladas and the President Lori is bringing pulled pork and you’re invited to bring a side dish if you wish.
We will have a presentation from Mandy Luongo of Mosquito County Tours. They do a walking tour of Virginia Avenue breweries. Mosquito County Tours is also bringing swag and raffle items.
Shorefest @ The Shores Resort and Spa
Mike and Joe Kara were up in Daytona for the Shorefest and shared this report.
Shorefest at The Shores Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach Shores on Sunday, January 20th was very enjoyable.
The event was moved indoors giving it an intimate and personal feel. Tables featured a wide variety of craft breweries from across Florida. A wristband purchase allowed sampling of the beers and wines.
2019 Stouts and Stogies
March 30th, 2019, 7:00 PM – 11:00PM
Come out to the Stout and Stogie event and enjoy great food, good times, your favorite stout, and if you smoke cigars, your favorite stogie or two.
Jim and Kathleen Gilson are hosting this event at their house in Altamonte Springs, Fl. The event is open to all CFHB members + one guest of a CFHB member.
What you should bring; a chair, the Gilson’s have some chairs but if you want to be sure you’ll have a place to sit bring one. Bring your favorite stout and a bottle or two to share if you like. We are also asking that attendees bring some type of a side dish to share, hot, cold, dessert dish or whatever. The club will be providing some type of grilled or baked or even possibly fried meat course.
What you should expect; wear sensible clothes and shoes and bring a coat. This is a backyard party so dress accordingly.
Bring a cooler with you if you like, no, we will not have ice on hand for you.
Expect to have a good time with good food and good beer with likeminded better beer drinkers.
Typically, this event has a nice mix of long time and newer members. Be ready to be able to talk about the fine art of Zymurgy to your hearts content.
Parking: Park in the front yard. Be smart and don’t park in such a way that block others. If you park in a good spot and someone does block you from leaving when it is time to go, we will get that car moved. No parking on the sidewalk or roped off areas (the sidewalk or the ditch beside the sidewalk.
No dogs please unless you plan to have them beside you and on a leash the entire time you are at the event. A complimentary pooper scooper will be provided for you use, bring your own bags. 😊
Kathleen will be making her New England style clam chowder by popular request.
Pints and Paws!

The club will be participating again in this years Pints and Paws. It's a great cause and 100% of the proceeds benefit Dolly's Foundation and Pet Rescue by Judy. More info to come!
Best Brew Days!
The Old Farmer’s Almanac says the best brew days for February are the 23rd through the 25th. So if you haven’t brewed with Ed Measom this year, now is your chance. See Ed at any meeting or any officer.
Speaking of Brew Days!
Luis Molina, Missy Todd and the Warwicks spend a recent weekend brewing a Kolsch style beer for competition with Lifetime member and past president Ed Measom. JR Silva and Ed are creating a steam beer. If you want to learn to brew with a professional beer educator, contact any board member.
Sunshine Challenge - Save the Date!
The Sunshine Challenge planning committee has finalized the location of this year’s Sunshine Challenge . The 2nd round judging and Awards buffet will be held at the Springhill Suites Orlando Airport, 5828 Hazeltine National Dr, Orlando, FL 32822
Stay tuned for more information but mark your calendars for June 20th - 22nd, 2019 for the 29th Anniversary of the Sunshine Challenge!
Entry window will be May 1st - May 19th 2019 and registration will be via Reggie Beer.
