Deanery Conference & Festival
Deanery Conference & Festival 2022
6 p.m. Friday, 27th May to 2 p.m. Monday, 30th May
at High Leigh Conference Centre
Hoddesdon, Herts

'How to be the Church: learning from our past, discerning our calling.'
Please accept our apologies for not communicating with you sooner: we had hoped and planned for at least one Conference Newsletter before now, but personal circumstances (not forgetting Covid-19!) have slowed our progress in planning - what we hope will be - a wonderful renewal of this annual event in the life of our Deanery.
A number of people in various parishes have been asking about booking for the event, and we can now tell you that we are open for business!  Please book online if you can (we very much prefer you to do this) however, a hard copy Application Form can be downloaded from the website, if absolutely necessary.
Although we are not yet in a position to publish a Provisional Timetable for the event, we can tell you that our Archbishop Nikitas expects to be with us and to contribute a little of his thinking on the subject of our theme; as well as Fr Dragos Herescu (Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies, Cambridge) and Dr Athanasios Papathanasiou (Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens) who have both expressed their willingness to come and talk with us.  Two Panel Discussions are also being planned, one on the theme, '(Re)discovering the Church: a vision to pass on', and the other on the theme, 'Lessons from the pandemic: community, ministry and message'.
The current expectation is that all the other regular components - Children' and Young Adults' programme, daily worship, Sunday evening party etc. - can be delivered, and further details about these and other parts of the programme will be the subject of future Newsletters.
