Research Bulletin - August 2016 (Issue 8)

Raising the profile of research and showcasing the great work in Scotland is a key priority. Our annual NHS Research Scotland conference provides an invaluable platform so we are delighted to have received a record number of abstracts which are now being reviewed for placement in the programme. This issue also contains information on a range of other events promoting research, innovation, career development and patient engagement. We also highlight the work of Scottish Health Innovations Ltd (SHIL) as they relaunch - designed to better promote their work in identifying, protecting, developing and commercialising new ideas and innovations from healthcare professionals. Included are some great examples of successful innovations and spin-out companies from NHS Scotland so be sure to take a look. As always your ideas, feedback and contributions are welcomed.

Thank you to all who submitted an abstract to the NHS Research Scotland conference. As the first year of running poster and oral abstract submissions we have received our highest number to date showcasing a great range of projects and initiatives. These are now being reviewed and we will be in touch with successful authors by late August. Registration is filling extremely fast for the conference with very limited places now remaining so if you have not already registered please do so now at
