Heyyyy.  Jumping in for my usual update!

I'm still bopping around Japan, and totally loving it.  I've been traveling sooooo much, and even dancing when I can fit it in.  The past six months have been a wonderful chance for me to take a step back, and now I'm ready to move forward.  I can't wait to enjoy the upcoming cherry blossom season, and then I'll be back in Philadelphia this May!

The Lontano Livestream series has continued!  This series is a collection of twenty-minute improvisations that I perform live via Facebook.  Sometimes the streams cut in and out, sometimes they get really blurry for a few seconds, sometimes they stop or rewind, but it only keeps the fun alive!  Between batches of buffering, you can see me perform incredibly pedestrian movements in a variety of settings.
Some have been performed in my apartment in the conveniently-located ritzy suburb of Nishinomiya, Hyogo (20 minutes from Osaka, 20 minutes from Kobe, 40 minutes from Kyoto), while others have been performed while traveling around: In December, I performed a set in my hotel in Nagasaki, while in January, I danced around at a beach in Okinawa.
In terms of my thought process for the series, I think of the Lontano Livestream merely as a way to show life and activity on my CV.  That's all.  I don't know what I want to do with my "incredibly versatile" degree in dance or with my illustrious experience as a freelance artist, but I know that I want it to seem like i am still a #ProfessionalDancer. #Capezio.
Roommate-from-afar Dr. Andy Thierauf and I are still collaborating as stb x at!  Most recently, this February he premiered Crossdivide at Andrea Clearfield's Salon Series in Philadelphia!  Andy performed with an mbira and electronics with an original, live-distorted video of my dancing prowess projected on the wall/ceiling above.  Stay tuned for more when I'm back!
While I am less prolific as a dancer right now, I am overly-prolific as a documenter of my travels in Japan... So here is a barrage of STB.  Sorry.  My Instagram is currently set to public, so there's that.

If there's one thing that keeps me going, it is my domain provider validating my professional endeavors.  I really want to switch platforms, but I guess I'll stay if they keep it up.

Thanks for the support, guys!

xoxo,

STB
