Office Announcements

We are in the final stages of selecting a summer intern to help us with some long range projects. We have developed a robust internship program over the years that helps those that are new to the profession gain practical financial planning experience. The ideal candidate will be finishing their financial planning education requirements this year with a college program that is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and will be sitting for the CFP® exam within the next 12 months. The internship program is our commitment to moving the profession forward by giving the next generation an opportunity to learn how a real financial planning firm works on a day to day basis. Look for our introduction of the winning candidate (out of ten applicants so far) next month!

Beth recently enjoyed a well-deserved vacation with her daughter, Monica. They went on a European cruise that featured the “Back Street Boys” in concert. The cruise went from Barcelona, to Cannes, to Florence and back to Barcelona. They are pictured below enjoying a tasty seafood dish of paella with wine.

Evelyn, Mark, and Kevin attended the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) Retreat Conference at the end of April in Phoenix. This conference is a great place to learn and share insight about “what’s next” in the financial planning profession. Many major “cutting edge” developments in financial planning can trace their roots or first discussions back to FPA Retreat.
Evelyn recently spoke at three women’s events:
  1. A Presentation at UCI Women’s Empowerment Initiative: Women and the History of Women in the Financial Services Industry
  2. The “Invest In Women 2016” conference in Dallas presenting on Divorce Planning. The “Invest In Women 2016” conference is the leading forum nationwide to explore, discuss and learn about issues that are meaningful for women financial advisors and female clients.
  3. A presentation to female business professionals in the Inland Empire.
Evelyn has been asked by Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) to travel to their Austin headquarters in mid-June to provide input on serving women.
