Child Safety Training
Monday, July 4th, 5 pm
open to all SEYM Friends online on Zoom
All adults would benefit from knowing how to keep our young Friends safe in our Monthly Meetings, Worship Groups, and Yearly Meeting --- whether you plan to work directly with youth or not. Creating safe space for children works best when the whole community is attuned to their needs.
The SEYM Child Safety Training is designed to give Friends the tools and support to create a safe and caring space for our children. The training, which lasts about 1-1/2 hours, covers best practices in caring for different youth age groups, and how to prevent, recognize, and report child abuse. It is also a requirement for becoming an SEYM registered Youth, if you choose to volunteer (read more below).

Our co-facilitators will be: Cheryl Demers, SEYM CAPP Coordinator, and
Kody Hersh, SEYM Youth & Young Adult Coordinator.

Urgent Call to Friends/friends concerning threats to our democracy - July 25

A group of nineteen Friends is led to speak out against the lies, extremist movements, and anti-democratic actions that are the opposite of our Quaker understandings of integrity and Truth. We are inviting all concerned Friends and friends to join us in the first of a series of national conversations on these issues to be hosted by the Earlham School of Religion on either Monday, July 25 (7 to 9 PM, Eastern time), or Sunday, July 31 (3 to 5 PM Eastern time).  You can find more details and register at

Young Friends Group
(First Day School)

Young Friends Group is a weekly religious education program for youth from birth to age 18. Youth attend 10am Worship for a few minutes, then follow adult youth leaders to the Cottage for guided activities. Youth rejoin their families at 11am.

We have a great cause, protecting the lives, health and equality of women. John Lennon said, "Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it's not the end.” And I do believe this; I just do. I believe that love is sovereign here, and goodness. I just do. So we push back our sleeves, and fight back: left foot, right foot, left foot, breathe. And I believe we can do it, I just do.

Supporting Gifts

Supporting Gifts to the Orlando Monthly Meeting are very important. They provide the basis for our financial support and for our continued existence as a Quaker Meeting. While it is true our community has the great benefit of a financial legacy provided to us from the generous and wise Friends of the past, we  nevertheless have a duty to protect the legacy for the future. Your support gifts, of any size, will add to the effort to preserve our legacy and enable the Orlando Monthly Meeting of The Religious Society of Friends to continue serving Friends now and beyond our time.
Gifts may be made in person at the Meeting House or by mail. To use credit cards, debit cards or Paypal, simply click on the DONATE image below, or go to where any menu page, such as "About Us," will have a DONATE button for making a single or recurring contribution. Checks made out to “Quakers of Orlando” can be mailed to: Christine Stinson, Treasurer, Orlando Monthly Meeting, P.O. Box 840097, St. Augustine Beach, FL 32080.
