BDD Conference, new Research Project and GP card up on our website

The BDD Foundation is proud to announce that we will be hosting the third International Conference on Body Dysmorphic Disorder. 


THEME: 'YOUNG MINDS AND BODY DYSMORPHIC DISORDER: THE ART OF SELF-IMAGE'


The Conference will take place on 9 November 2019 at Regent’s University London from 9am to 5pm.

Attendees will get the opportunity to choose from and attend a selection of workshops & speeches that will be given by experts on the condition and individuals with lived experience of Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

Please participate in a new research project about BDD.

This is an art based research project on individual's experiences of having BDD.

You need to be aged 18 or over.

Participation involves completing a short online questionnaire, creating an artwork to represent your experiences of living with BDD and a follow up interview based on your art piece.

GP Card with information about BDD and treatments

New on the BDDF website is a GP card that you can print off and take with you to any initial appointments when discussing your BDD and treatment options

Your local GP is often a good place to start to find appropriate help. Some people are very nervous about what to say to a GP about their BDD.

Some GP’s will be very well informed about BDD but others may have less experience. We have produced an information card that you can give your GP at your first appointment.

The GP card can be downloaded by following the link below. It explains the condition in full and describes the usual treatment options:
