"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that suffering produces endurance,
 and endurance produces character,
and character produces hope,
and hope does not put us to shame, because
God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit
who has been given to us."  Romans 5:3-5

Dear <<First Name>>,
We are  hoping for and looking forward to many changes in 2016!
Our family has endured several emotional changes already this year.  Our 16 year old daughter, Dominique, has decided to live with her biological aunt, uncle and cousin and resume a relationship with her biological father.  This has been a very sad situation for our entire family, especially our four youngest children.  Within a week of  losing our daughter
we had to put our eight year old kitty, Mater, to sleep.  Uggg...... our hearts have been challenged.  The adventure of being The Strong Family is at times a difficult one. As we endure the struggles that come along with real life, fostering, adoption, and parenting,  we are continuously challenged in our faith.  We know through experience, that our biggest heartaches can result in some of God's most amazing work!   So we press on!  We ask dear friends and family that you pray for our family as we battle on toward the prize.

We knew at some point that Chad's daily work routine would change.  Well........the day has come!  His work has been slow this winter season and with him having other logs in the fire, his employer decided to give him a prayed over, encouraging shove into a more full time ministry!   He will be working from home to finish up some projects with JHA while we transition into this new routine.  We are super excited that Chad will be able to focus more on Pre-field Ministry work.  God's been providing for us all along, it's not our doing, and  now we're going to get face to face with our faith in believing that He will continue to provide for us.

We are praying about selling our house this Spring!  It's here!!........ the real going, packing, picking what goes and what doesn't, the selling and the moving! We have 6 weeks of training at ABWE headquarters, Harrisburg, PA, in June and July and plan on renting a house there. This would  free us from the hassle of renting our house and traveling back and forth for upkeep. We've got FOUR months to get to 50%!  If we don't reach that goal we will have to wait until next July to attend EMC (Essential Missions Components).  This training is available only once a year and you must be at 50% monthly support and have a whole bunch of other requirements completed.  We are working hard to accomplish our part, the reports, the reading requirements, and we wait on the Lord and His people to provide only in the way He can!  We have presented our ministry to 12 different churches, some of them we knew were not in a position to partner with us, and  are waiting on 9 of them to hear if they are able to join us in Nicaragua.

We need partners to sign up and begin their support asap, so that we can reach this goal of 50% in the next couple months.  We are currently at 17% with a whole lot of you that have expressed interest in joining us! We know that everything will happen just as God would have it and for THAT we are very confident in whatever is ahead.  We truly have LOVED our pre-field journey, presenting God's Story, sharing HOPE with His people.  It's an awesome thing to see the Lord at work!  We have been so encouraged sharing with the church and seeing them get focused on what God would have for THEM to do!
We believe wholeheartedly that we are exactly where God wants us, doing exactly what He would have us to do.  If we end up "having" to stay a whole other year to continue our support raising efforts than that's the best thing.  We will keep suffering and enduring
, and  all the while, we will be developing our character to be more like Him, while we share with others the Hope that we discover in the journey!

Thank you so much loved ones for praying for us!  Together, as the Body of Christ we are sharing the Story of Hope!
Waiting to serve,
Seriving while waiting,
The Strong Family ~ Chad & Rachel

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay
aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted."  Hebrews 12:1-3
