"California Coast"
Catherine Fasciato"Mendocino Magic"
Oil on Canvas 12" * 9"
Catherine Fasciato, AIS, OPA is featured in October at the Gallery with her show "California Coast." The show presents the California Coast from the turquoise water of Garrapata to the craggy cliffs of Mendocino, seen through Catherine's eyes.
In Catherine's words, ”Painting to me is a way to express emotion, much like a musician expresses emotion through music. I have enjoyed painting and drawing most of my life, I now paint mostly in oils; I love the feel and texture. I enjoy painting en plein air and in the studio, it is all exciting to me regardless of painting a crashing wave or a portrait."
"I was born in Hong Kong and raised in Hong Kong and Yorkshire, England. I am an American/British dual citizen, but consider California my home. My inspiration comes from great masters such as John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, and Anders Zorn as well as contemporary artists Randall Sexton, Huihan Lui, Kevin Courter, Ruo Li, Kevin Macpherson, Brian Blood, Laurie Kersey and Don Demers."
Catherine will be at the gallery to meet friends and the public Saturday and Sunday, October 15th and 16th, and Saturday and Sunday, October 29th and 30th.
