MaryLou Correia takes the spotlight as September’s featured artist with a show featuring pastel and oil paintings celebrating autumn colors. In MaryLou’s words, “Autumn is my favorite painting season. Nature provides gifts: russet colors, cooling temperatures, and long shadows. My show features Yosemite splendor, peaceful waterways along with Delta, coastal drama, and awesome Mount Diablo.”
"Escaping the inland August heat to Half Moon Bay, I gazed on beach inlets with swarming pelicans and gulls competing for fish. The glistening pond tucked in sand led down to the ocean. The dark sea waves reflected the fog in motion. I painted vigorously with that special challenge of a new discovery. It was so restful just watching the colors of the setting sun. "
Mary Lou's show ”September” is also a Ukraine benefit and 50% of her September sales will be donated to one of the vetted and approved aid organizations listed onstandforukraine.com.MaryLou will be greeting patrons and new friends at the Gallery Saturday, September 3rd and over the weekend of September 10-11.
