Beth Winfieldwill be featured at the Gallery with her exhibit “Secret Gardens” during the month of August. Beth will be greeting patrons and new friends at the Benicia Plein Air Gallery at the reception on Saturday, August 20th, 2-5 pm.
The Gallery welcomes new member Christopher Naughton, AIA, ACHA. Christopher works primarily in pastels. In Christopher's words, " My job as an artist and architect is to re-create nature thru my own personal lens to express beauty and delight....
I choose pastels to take advantage of their pure color and immediate effect by layering color next to color, vs. the traditional “blending” or paints. I work primarily on “toothed” archival papers, and employ scumbled, hatched, and broken color techniques to create my desired level or realism...My focus as an artist is not to paint objects, but instead to paint atmosphere! "
