Don't Miss Out on This Spectacular Event! The work of Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox has been viewed on the ensemble’s YouTube channel well over a hundred million times! Their music is appealing to all generations.
As you can see the shopping bags that were donated by Weis and Giant were filled to the brim with necessary items to supplement our pantry recipients in the coming months. September marked Hunger Awareness month and it was apparent by this outpouring of generosity that awareness was achieved!
With the help of some volunteers including, Jason Lavetan, Amy Stone, Robin Pottorff, Greg Kohr, Connor Kohr, Lore & Allen Britton, Jessica Brein, Jacob Arbetman and Neil Sparber, made the transition from TBI to the Pantry and then to the North East Neighborhood Food Bank a smooth one!
JFS joined many national food advocacy groups trying to raise Hunger Awareness. We saw our Facebook posts shared by our friends to their friends and family. We posted daily tweets and gained some new followers! We all took part in the Hunger Action Calendar provided by JFS to help raise awareness and add a personal touch to advocacy work.
We couldn’t have done this without YOU!
Now that Hunger Month is over, we are proud of all that has been accomplished, and know that we can do more. Please email Lisa@JFSyork.org with your experiences this month, the plans you have going forward, or suggestions that you’d like to see in the future.
Thank you for making this last month so successful.
