A little story and a short video on making and being playful.

To be really honest, I don't know exactly why I make art. I could tell you that making things makes me happy or that I can't stop myself. Or that when I look back at all the things I've created I feel that it was time well spent.

I think there is a little piece of the truth in each explanation. When I was young I was encouraged to create things. I was given mechanical toys and got to play with my Mother's drafting supplies (she is a pre-AutoCAD architect - Mom: I'm sorry about all those fancy markers I ruined by leaving them uncapped).

So in some ways it's a habit I don't question very much. Like brushing my teeth: most times I enjoy it, some times I have to force myself to do it, but I'm sure something good comes out of it.  Or something unexpected.

These animations are an example of that. I started with an interest in documenting more of my process and I had to throw something playful in the mix. This is me trying to find a voice so it's not very finished but it is quite short.

PS: I've started adding things to my Etsy store, including this little guy, check it out here
