A longer story today. A japanese legend has it that the founder of Zen Buddhism sat in meditation for so long  that his arms and legs fell off. Daruma dolls are modeled after him. They are considered a symbol of good luck and perseverance.
Friedensreich Hundertwasser -who is one of my favorite painters- wrote: "The garden gnome symbolizes our right to dreams and our yearning for a fairer, better world".

So here is my Daruma-Gnome. A lucky character that brings the good rain in his eyes and can talk to the grass and the birds for me. For I no longer know how.
