the fifty hands series, No. 39 - A strange friend.

No.39

My friend Zoe introduced me to this great children's book: Duck, Death and the Tulip. Death meets Duck, and they become friends as they walk around. It's simply told and very profound. I was going to draw a black river inspired on the last page of the book, something about the flow of life and death. Instead I drew a strange four legged creature with a shiny butt because I was thinking about how we become friends with the most unlikely people. And also, how hard it is to meet people that are different from us.
I feel lucky in that realm. For an introvert that spends so much time at home drawing and petting cats I have some wonderful and strange people in my life. Thank you for being there.
