ADRA Canada Teaches Rural Farmers in Rwanda new Methods of Agriculture to Cope with the Effects of Global Climate Change

Mariam lives in Rwanda with her husband and five children.  For a number of years, Mariam and her neighbors have been struggling with harsh weather.  Global climate change has wreaked havoc in many parts of Africa and Rwanda has been hard hit.  It has become increasingly difficult to know when to plant. The dry season is lasting longer and is sometimes followed by severe flooding.

Canadian Volunteers Visit Peru with ADRA Canada Connections

In October, 2015 nine Canadian volunteers traveled to the District of Cusco in Peru.  While there the group installed 25 smokeless stoves in the homes of people living in poverty.  Michael Kirkby, Connections Coordinator for ADRA Canada, gives a report of the exciting trip in this five minute video.

The Canadian Foodgrains Bank is inviting applications for its Educators Learning Tour to Nicaragua in August 2016.  Tour participants will visit Canadian Foodgrains Bank projects, engage with small-scale Nicaraguan farmers, and learn firsthand about the issues surrounding global hunger.
