Newsletter from the desk of Dabster Productions
Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter, I hope you don't think that it's just a cynical attempt to get you to listen to our radio programmes, download our podcasts, watch our online films or maybe to get tickets for one our live comedy shows.  Hopefully you'll find it interesting and won't immediately jump to the unsubscribe button at the bottom.

We've just released a comedy album with The Pleasance, we've got two new series about to start on BBC Radio Scotland and we've got two new series about to start on BBC Radio 4.  We're also on our way to Uist to do a bit of radio training with Screen HI and we've got a couple of live shows coming up that you might like.

Please read on to see what we've been up to...

Our stand up comedy series returned to BBC Radio 4 Extra last week and is available NOW to listen to on the iPlayer.

Dabster's very own Richard Melvin introduces some of his favourite stand up comedians. This particular episode features Fred MacAulay, Raymond Mearns, Fern Brady, Jo Jo Sutherland and the fabulous Boothby Graffoe.

If you were there at the recording - you should have a listen and see which bits made it through the edit.

Julia Sutherland: Fat Chance

We're delighted that you're finally going to get the chance to hear Fat Chance. We loved making it and hope you enjoy listening to it too.  Here's what the Radio Times says...

Comedian Julia Sutherland spent over a decade battling with eating disorders and obesity.  When she finally lost six and a half stone, it felt like she had another shot at life.  A new body, a new perspective on the world – but was it really a new Julia? Through stand up, sketches & stories she attempts to find out…

The John Moloney Show
May 2015
BBC Radio 4

11pm

All four episodes of The John Moloney Show are coming to Radio 4 very soon. Working with John has been a total pleasure.  He’s the godfather of the UK comedy scene. Watching him work is like watching a masterclass unfold.  He’s like a conductor and the audience is his orchestra.  I can’t wait for Radio 4’s listeners to hear this show.   They’re going to love it.
The show  features performances from Julia Sutherland, Fred MacAulay and Gareth Waugh….as well as a cameo appearance from Richard playing the part of a feckless yoooof!

The Comedy Legends

We have been working with our dear friends at the Pleasance and have put together an excellent comedy album available now to buy.  The Comedy Legends album contains a selection of the funniest anecdotes from some of the biggest names in comedy, including Graham Norton, Frank Skinner, David O'Doherty, Miranda Hart and John Bishop. (And 25 more!)  All proceeds from the sale go towards pleasance Futures, investing in the talent of tomorrow.

Coming Up...

Over the next few weeks we're going to be making Terry Alderton: All Crazy Now for BBC Radio 4, we're returning to Inverness for The Expo North Festival, we're going to Uist for a training project and we have exciting announcement to make about this year's Edinburgh Fringe.  Watch this space.
