Over the past 5 days, I've used the word "unprecedented" more than I've used it in my entire life. And it's true–we're living in a time where something like this has never happened.

One of the most powerful statements you can make about COVID-19 involves talking with those you love, including your clients, friends, and sphere of influence.

Be a beacon of light and a voice of reason for them.

You don't have to have all the answers.

But you know real estate, and that means more to them than you'll ever know.

Below, I've included an example of what I call a "Business Continuity" email to send out to your database. If you want to copy it word-for-word or in sections, I'm totally cool with that. Copy it. Use it. Send it. Or, if you'd like to craft yours on your own, I've included an outline of each of the sections further down.

It's true. We live in a strange time where uncertainty feels certain. With the 24/7 news cycle, it isn't very easy to break away to feel the GOOD in life. So, today, I wanted to bring that GOOD to your email inbox.

No matter what happens, I believe that there's so much GOOD in the world around us. This is a time where we can help one another and show kindness and love. We're in this together, and we will overcome it together.

Please always consider me a resource on real estate and the housing market. I'm living that promise to you today. Below, you'll find several helpful tips and answers to common questions. If you have a specific question, simply reply to this email to let me know.

COVID-19 and Real Estate
Remaining aware of what is happening and being armed with correct information is critical during this time. COVID-19 is a concern, but our local real estate market remains strong. Each and every person needs a place to call home, and it's my mission to make sure that I am serving you and our community by ensuring that the home buying and home selling processes are seamless and stress-free.

No matter what happens, homes will continue to be bought and sold. Homes will continue to be wise investments. Locally, showings and offers on listings remain strong, and buyers continue to take advantage of record-low interest rates.

I will continue to provide the best service I can–you have my word on that. I appreciate your support and referrals so much.

Interest Rates: Should I refi my home mortgage?
Last week, mortgage interest rates hit an all-time low, dipping into the 2% range. Currently, they've rebounded due to the very high volume of mortgage refi applications last week. As a general rule of thumb, if your interest rate is at 4% or below, it's not likely that a refi will benefit you, unless you decide to refi on a 15-year term. However, if your rate is above 4%, you may want to consider refinancing. Do you need a lender recommendation? Reach out to me anytime.

Buying or Selling: Going virtual is easier than you think!
Buyers: If you're looking to buy a home, you'll still receive the same high-quality service that you expect and deserve. We'll conduct a Buyer's Consultation virtually via Zoom, Skype, or Google Hangouts. It's easy, and we can still discuss your specific needs in detail. I can also provide virtual tours of homes that fit your search criteria.
Sellers: If you're thinking of selling, I'll still be able to walk through your home virtually using tools like Facetime or Google Meet. This information will help me put together an accurate Comparative Market Analysis of your home, and that will help us price it correctly. If your home is on the market currently, there are many tools I can share that will help you show your home virtually to buyers, including a virtual open house. These tools demonstrate to buyers that you're doing your part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but that you're still serious about getting your home sold.

How You Can Make a Difference in Your Community

  1. Use social media for good.
  2. Support local businesses as much as you can.
  3. Purchase gift cards from your favorite local restaurants or shops.
  4. Help the elderly in your neighborhood. Call to see if they need anything from the grocery store or pharmacy and offer to pick items up for them.
  5. Be sure to always use Social Distancing, remaining 6 feet away from others.
