Majestic Hills Ranch is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit that serves riders in the seven county region around Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN. MHR does not discriminate against anyone, rider or volunteer, due to race, religion, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, or political beliefs.
Riders just need to meet program criteria and have a physician’s order.

As we focus towards the coming of Spring (and we are hoping it is a mild one) we begin to wrestle with such fun items as updating paperwork, grant writing, event planning, and scheduling of staff.  We are also trying out a new E-Newsletter platform, so please pardon any errors - it is a work in progress!
The Children’s Program is hosting a new event this year to be held at Canterbury Park. This springtime adventure will be on Saturday, June 27th from 12:30 pm through 4:30 pm.  It will include a buffet luncheon, silent auction items to bid on, and live horse racing.  We are hoping to draw in folks that are not as familiar with our programs but that might enjoy an afternoon of excitement. 
Individual tickets are available to be purchased on-line and we are looking for businesses or individuals that would want to be sponsors for this event.  Tickets are $65 each and will include admission to Canterbury Park on June 27th, a regular racing program, and a buffet luncheon in the Silks Restaurant with Majestic Hills Ranch.  We will have a slide show presentation showing our riders hard at work during the meal, and you can mingle with our staff and possibly some board members and riders that are able to come.
As we get sponsors and items donated for our silent auction, our website will be updated so we can thank all who support our programs.

Volunteer Expo
This Saturday (2/14/15) will be the Volunteer Expo at the Mall of America.  This event, showcasing volunteer opportunities throughout the Greater Minneapolis / St. Paul area, is one where we go to meet and recruit new folks to help out the programs.  We always have a great time speaking with people that have never heard of what we do, passing on information of how we help our riders, and making connections to other non-profits around the region.
Our booth will be near the Sears store in the Mall—which is the North East section (off Lindau Ave.)  If you want to stop by to say help, we will be there from 10 am through 3 pm. 
It will be a fun Valentine’s Day adventure!
Paperwork Updated & On Website
After some reworking, the 2015 paperwork is on-line for riders in both the Children’s and the HOH Veteran’s Programs.  There has been changes to all forms, so we will need to have both riders and our volunteers (even returning ones) fill out new forms.  After going over the PATH Intl recommendations and corrections that went into effect in 2014, our forms were updated to reflect the current standards.  The main changes are as follows:
  • The age range of the riders for our Children's Program is different.  We now no longer accept riders younger than 4 years old, unless they are a returning rider.  It is  PATH Intl. recommendation that riders under 4 years do not have the core muscle and neck strength for riding wearing an appropriate helmet.  We will be following this guideline for the safety of our riders.
  • We must now have a Liability Release form that needs to be signed for both riders & volunteers.  Before this we just had a paragraph on the registration form, but the change is a little more encompassing towards horseback riding and working with horses as a whole.
We have the forms on our website, and we will be emailing them out beginning on March 9th.  Scheduling for the 2015 riding season will begin March 23rd and billing will go out April 6th for the spring session.
At the request of a few folks, I created a 2015 Wall Calendar featuring the Horses of MHR.  I have just a few left, so please let me know if you would be interested in buying one (or more!)  They are $13 each and the money we make on these will help us purchase new toys for the programs to use (new rings, turtles and frogs.)  I can mail these out (shipping has been around $4.50 for envelope and postage) and you can enjoy some lovely photos taken by some of our boarders and volunteers.
