During the webinar, Mark Gale and Kim Roberts from Athens State University shared how they increased the quantity and quality of discussion board interactions in their online courses. Participate in Quality Matters professional development to learn best practices. For faculty, QM’s Teaching Online: An Introduction to Online Delivery or the  K-12 Introduction to Teaching Online workshop is a great place to start. In these workshops, you’ll explore critical components of online teaching, including the instructor’s role in the online classroom, student engagement, and methods of facilitating online discussions using the discussion board.
QM Instructional Designers Association
Instructional designers can connect with peers across the globe through the QM Instructional Designers Association. This special interest group for IDs at QM Member organizations provides many tools and resources, including webinars, to facilitate the sharing of information and exchange of ideas.
