It all starts here, but the end is not far...
So, I bet you're wondering what all this is about. Well, given that I'm in the process of preparing for an exciting concert, and that people are always asking me "what all goes into getting a job as a conductor?", I've decided to answer that question with the occasional update and insight into this two-month journey of an audition process.
If all goes well, you'll see what it's like to prepare for a concert, and I'll end up with a new gig!!
A bit of background...
In June of last year, I received a call informing me that I had been selected as one of five finalists for the Music Director position with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) in Columbus, IN. As such, I will appear in concert as a guest conductor later this season. At the beginning of their next concert cycle - which kicks off February 24 - I will began my two-month residency in Columbus, during which I will lead rehearsals, meet with board members and staff, and speak with various media outlets to help promote the performance.
I'll also be sharing some insights, anecdotes, pictures, and the occasional video, from the road as I prepare for my audition concert with the CSO on April 26. (By the way... SAVE THAT DATE!!)
So, here we go!! Embarking on a journey that will not take long, will not clutter up your inbox, but will definitely be exciting, interesting and even a bit engaging (i.e. the occasional trivia contest for some FREE CONCERT TICKETS).
Thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and support!!
