Interview with JJ Chuan from Rehyphen
JJ Chuan is an artist and environmentalist who transforms cassette tapes into beautiful art and fashion. In our latest article we ask her about sustainable fashion, e-waste and homemade mix-tapes sent to Australia for her pen pal. An interesting comparison is made with modern surfboards and a case study on how to extend the life of materials if recycling isn't feasible.

We're thrilled JJ has joined our team as a Global Consultant so we can learn more about materials, upcycling and sustainability from a true master in this realm.
Girls Can't Surf : The Movie
It’s the 1980s and the world of professional surfing is a circus of fluoro colours, peroxide hair and radical male egos. GIRLS CAN’T SURF follows the journey of a band of renegade surfers who took on the male-dominated professional surfing world to achieve equality and change the sport forever.

Featuring surfing greats Jodie Cooper, Frieda Zamba, Pauline Menczer, Lisa Andersen, Pam Burridge, Wendy Botha and Layne Beachley ~ who we're incredibly lucky to have on our Advisory Board here at Wave Changer. Do yourself a favour and enjoy an exciting part of history on the big screen.
Sea Trees + Sustainable Surf
Take a moment to see the great work of our friends over at Sea Trees, an initiative of Sustainable Surf. It's all about regenerative projects such as planting underwater kelp forests and mangrove trees. Our recent publication, Surfer vs Planet, features exclusive quotes from co-founder Michael Stewart and also Sea Trees ambassador, pro-surfer and environmentalist Pacha Light.
You might've heard about 'Seaspiracy' a new Netflix documentary that blows open a whole bunch of critical, shocking and contentious issues centred around the ocean. Here's the trailer.
