Greenhouse Surfboards and Ken Cole
Our latest interview is with someone who's developing a remarkable idea that could make a massive impact on the surfing world and beyond. Ken Cole, psychologist and surfboard shaper, uses local Milwaukee materials such as coffee bags from local roasters, wood scraps from yards and shops, repurposed bio-resins and stringer shavings.

If, like us, you're intrigued by surfing and it's relationship with sustainability, then you're in for a treat.

SurfAid Cup & Layne Beachley
We're thrilled to announce that 7 x World Champ, Layne Beachley, will be surfing on our team in the upcoming SurfAid Cup held in Manly (home of Wave Changer HQ) on Friday, 26 November. Also confirmed for the event is Adrian Buchan, Matt Wilkinson and Damien Hardman.

SurfAid specialises in working in very isolated villages where the maternal and child mortality rates are some of the highest in the world. Put simply, they do a fantastic job at helping those in need.

With your support, they can give families the best chance of getting ahead by providing access to healthcare, clean water and sanitation and improved nutrition. Anything you can donate to support our efforts is greatly appreciated.

Earlier in the week we posted this image on Instagram, showing a typical fin key (used to attach fins to surfboards) and asked if it could made of one material. We received some great feedback on Instagram and Linked In where it was posted. One reader, Harris Grunden, even made a prototype which can be seen here. We hope someone takes notice and edges this debate to the next level...

The Unwanted Shapes initiative took place at the start of October, held in Portugal at the WSL + MEO / Vissla Peniche PRO 2021 professional surf event. It featured some of the worlds top surfboard shapers who were handpicked to make a surfboard from Covid-19 waste materials such as face masks. Two of our Global Consultants here at Wave Changer, Charlie Cadin and Ryan Harris, were both selected and created a pair of pretty epic designs. Charlie's entry can be seen here and Ryan Harris' is here. Congrats to you both!
