It's been a record breaking season at Walden Cross Country; record amount of snow, record number of memberships and record cold! But we skied, snowshoed and fatbiked through it all. Thank you for another fantastic year!!!

Race Team Update:  The 2018/2019 race season has come to a close. A big thank you to all the parent volunteers and coaches who helped make it our best year yet! We had 7 athletes represent our club at Nationals this year at Nakkertok in March. This past weekend we had a large group of athletes head down to North Bay for the Spring Relay and 100m Championships. Walden placed second as a club during this event!

The race team will starting back up in May after having a nice break. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the racing program please contact coach@waldenxc.ca.

Volunteers
Helping out at the club.
Rob Wiss (Right) is the recipient of this year's Volunteer of the Year Award.

2019 Walden Cross Country Volunteer of the Year Award

Rob Wiss is the winner of this year’s Volunteer of the Year Award for his selfless contributions to Walden Cross Country. Rob has been a ubiquitous presence at special events held at the club. Rob helped out with set up and tear down at the club for events like the Turkey Gobbler, Ski Swap, all of the four Night Lights Race Series events. He took time off work to help procure, organize and set up equipment for the Ontario Cup hosted by WCC. He has spent considerable effort developing and honing his waxing skills and donating his time and expertise to the Sudbury Nordic Racers at all of the Ontario Cups as well as local races held throughout the year and acted as a Race Team Representative on our re-branding committee. Rob is without a doubt an incredible resource and contributor for our Nordic Ski Community. Thank you, Rob and congratulations!
