Dear <<First Name>>,

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
― Maya Angelou

We have experienced an unprecedented summer in Howard County!  The Ellicott City flood on July 30th has sent our community reeling.   With so many of our own family and friends displaced, we have all wanted to reach out and help.

Blossoms of Hope, like many other businesses and organizations, has reached out to help. On August 11th, we put together a fundraiser and networking event to raise funds for Ellicott City in general, but also to connect people who lost their jobs with companies that are hiring.  And during the next several months as Ellicott City begins to rebuild, we will continue to raise funds to help the people and businesses in Ellicott City.

Blossoms of Jobs
Thank you!!
Thanks to all who came to the Blossoms of Jobs event on August 11th at AIDA Bistro and Wine Bar!  Thanks to Praxis Engineering for sponsoring such a fabulous event.  What a great turnout!  There were over 130 in attendance and we raised almost $8000 in just a few hours.  And the main purpose of the event, to connect job seekers with employers was also a great success! We’ve heard about several connections that were made.

On top of the funds and the jobs, Turf Valley has opened meeting space for some of the displaced businesses to use as a temporary store!  At least 11 businesses are using that space, making it a temporary Main Street.  Businesses that will be at Turf Valley include:
  • Southwest Connection Native American Jewelry & Gifts & Fudge Shop
  • Simply Divine Boutique of Ellicott City
  • Still Life Gallery Fine Art & Custom Framing
  • Boliwalou
  • ZEBOP of Historic Ellicott City
  • Matcha Time Cafe
  • Sue Langert
  • The Vintage Vault & Gallery
  • Syriana
  • Park Ridge Trading Co.
  • Attic Antiques

Make sure to stop in and visit every Friday, Saturday and Sunday starting August 25th.
