CLSD data packs support legal assistance planning

Data packs for all 12 Cooperative Legal Service Delivery (CLSD) Program regions are now available online via the Foundation's websiteThe data packs aim to assist with facilitating the planning and enhanced service coordination in each CLSD region.

Since 2009, the Foundation has regularly produced data packs for the CLSD Program, which is managed by Legal Aid NSW, using data from the Foundation’s Legal Assistance Services Data Digest (Data Digest), accompanied by ABS Census data.*

What's in each data pack?

The 12 CLSD data packs provide:
  • a snapshot of the region with statistics by LGA, including maps with population numbers
  • the Foundation’s Need for Legal Assistance Services (NLAS) indicators
  • a demographic profile of clients who made enquiries to legal assistance services.

About the CLSD program

The Cooperative Legal Service Delivery (CLSD) Program, managed by Legal Aid NSW, is a regionally-based approach to legal service delivery in New South Wales. It aims to improve outcomes for economically and socially disadvantaged people by building cooperative and strategic networks of key legal services and community organisations.
* The data held in the Data Digest can be described as providing an indication of ‘expressed’ legal need, that is, legal need for which legal assistance is sought.
