Let's Talk Fresh Tuna Steaks!

Tuna, classified as a fatty fish, includes several different species and is always a popular choice here at Motts Channel Seafood. Fresh tuna steaks serve as an excellent source of complete protein, provide the body with polyunsaturated fats with very little saturated fat, contain Omega-3 Fatty acids (which contain many heart and brain benefits) and are packed with niacin (B3) and Vitamin A
.

Tuna is super easy to prepare. Just this past weekend we needed a quick appetizer to share on the beaches of Bald Head Island. Alison rubbed a fresh tuna steak with Shipwrecked Seasoning (shown below, sold at our store), seared it about four minutes per side, sliced it and served it with soy sauce and wasabi. It disappeared in minutes.
